Podcast 20 – Once A Fanboy…
After arguing talking about politics, Jeff started to tell me some stories about the Sega vs Nintendo days. These stories were too good, and before I knew it, we were sitting down to record. As a former Sega employee from the 90s, Jeff had a front row seat to all the action going on in the early console wars. He also tells us how he ran into a member of NWA during his time in the industry. If nothing else, YOU MUST LISTEN to the very end of the podcast to hear the final question of the Q & A portion. Jeff will tell how he worked on the voice overs for Shining Force 3. Pure Gold.

Fanboy.com’s definition of ‘fanboy’
Note: I realize the current use of the word “fanboy” is much different from the old sports term and the fanzine called Fanboy. And both of those terms are not quite the same as using fanboy as a general concept relating to a two-sided, brand-fascination logic.

Sonic was in Super smash bros : brawl. Pretty sure that was before the mario & sonic olympics.
Mario and Sonic at the Olympic Games Beijing 2008 came out in late 2007. Super Smash Bros Brawl featured Sonic as an unlockable character and was released early the next year in 2008.

my initial inclination is to run away from this but you know what? f@ck that! i will proudly own up to it all! how many of you haters out there can say your voice is on a video game? and furthermore, how many of you would have turned down the chance to have your voice immortalized in a game, infamous or not, if you were in the same position? not many of you i would think, so get to steppin’ son! LOL!!!
CHAD WARDEN OMFG ROFL

did a little bit of fact checking and i found:
- apparently the Iron Sheik is Iranian, at least according to wikipedia, which may or may not mean anything. i thought i had heard on Howard Stern’s show that he wasn’t Iranian, which again may or may not mean anything, so take it however you choose
- i incorrectly identified the original Tomb Raider being on PS2 at the same time it was on the Saturn when it was actually on PS1
Btw, where is the video of Jeff’s appearances in Shining Force? Did he bribe you not to include the link?
no bribe needed. a simple search is all it takes… LOL!!!
i provided a couple of links earlier up in the comments/feedback so be sure to check those out….
as for a link with all of the voices in the game: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PVL3x72p3rg
