Podcast 18 – The Double G Cast
This is the second of two podcasts featuring Aly and Eric from The Gamer Girls. Why video games feel they have to push cup sizes to insane proportions to satisfy their audience? Raph has actually sculpted big tetays for games (I’m tired of saying ‘boobs’), so he has something to say on the matter.

great podcast. nice insight to some topics from the female perspective…
Good stuff guys. I laughed the whole way through. I’m not much of a gamer these days but I appreciate a diverse representation of female beauty in general. Isn’t the trait men admire most in women confidence? So just make sure the female characters kick ass and the cup size becomes less relevant. I guess if I were to pick a female character I’d choose one that vibed with my personality and body type. And since huge boobs Totally Suck when you’re trying to run and kick ass I’d go with a more realistic one if she existed. But guys dominate this industry so maybe most of them just want female characters representative of their favorite playmates?
I agree. Having multiple options is so nice! I love when characters are beautiful though. That part doesn’t bother me so much. The thing that bothers me the most is the way that a lot of female characters are depicted in lore, not their physical attributes.
I want to see female characters who kick booty and have personalities that are respected. Not the ones who are damsels in distress, slutty, pissy or whiny. (It’s okay to have variety…But not when these are the majority of female characters we see.)
Also, in general, I often see game lore with parties of multiple guys and one chick. Why don’t we ever see it the other way around? Calling all writers! We need more female characters please! =D
“because that’s what you would do” lol
So cold, Raph…sounds like she didn’t hear it though.
LOL I missed that part Josh.
I’m a cold bastard Josh….
Ugh, this was a little frustrating to listen to. Mostly because I am a female and there were times where I wish Aly would’ve spoken up rather than sitting in the background. And…I didn’t completely agree with all of the opinions of the hosts, but hey that’s what discussions are for!
You can totally date someone who plays the same games as you. If you can’t handle someone beating you in a game, you really have problems in general. There will always be someone better than you…Just be happy that it’s your significant other and strive to be better. Possibly, learn something from them? =P
Fighting happens in relationships no matter what you are doing. Gaming requires you to rely on one another for specific aspects of gaming which can really allow you to grow closer to one another. A fight in game should never be the reason you break up. Breaking up over a little fight in game is kind of…I don’t know, immature? Maybe, that’s not the right word. You know what I mean.
Also! It’s been proven that people want to be with someone who shares their interests. It’s great actually. My boyfriend and I both LOVE the same games and work together as a pwnage team. We play music together and generally, just enjoy life together. It’s awesome and makes us the ultimate allies. =D
I do think that you have to have some of your own personal hobbies and your own self time, but in general, being with someone who shares your interests and plays games with you is very fulfilling.
Just wanted to put my two cents in the jar because that part was a little frustrating for me.
“Why video games feel they have to push cup sizes to insane proportions to satisfy their audience?”
On the same token, why are the male characters all ripped badasses with perfect male proportions with deep, resonating voices.
I agree there’s pressure (and ridiculousness) portrayed in regards to women and objectifying certain aspects of them .. but it happens to guys too. Perhaps it just gets less attention.
Overall though it’s probably “because it’s fantasy”. Movies, commercials, to some degree even BOOKS portray things in a fantastical fashion: I don’t think the original question can be applied only to games.
Like I responded to @KrissLikeKiss. I don’t mind the hot chick and hot dude look. It’s fantasy. We get. We all wish we were hot biotches. =P
It’s more so the characters! Why are women always depicted as characters that NO ONE WANTS TO BE and men are always the valiant knight, bad ass pwner and shii. That’s what bothers me more than anything.
