The SUPER I Am 8-Bit Show
SUPER I Am 8-Bit is the sequel to the original I Am 8 Bit show. It’s bigger, louder, and more colorful than before. A good number of the pieces were selling, and there was a lot of interest. The line stretched about 4 blocks on opening night Thursday, but nobody seemed to mind. There was a lot of imagination to be seen and a lot of the pieces went beyond the simpler concepts of what an artist thinks Mario looks like. It’s going to be running until September 10, 2011, so be sure you get to LA and see it for yourself.

These shows always draw a lot of people. It was good to see the still there is still a big draw for art and video games.

“Portrait of Rockman” by Chris Sanchez.

There were more sculpted/physical pieces in this year’s show like R.O.B.E.T.

3D pieces by Sky Burchard

8-Bit hats

Kirby Cutouts by Kevin Jay Stanton

Dave Crosland Live Painting

Carlos Ramos

“Beat It” by Noah Lane

“I Am The Bomb” by Stone

“Bently” by Mathew Hawkins

There were a lot of layers in this piece. This is one of those pieces that doesn’t make as much sense when you’re seeing a photo of it. Like a lot of art, it needs to be seen in person.

The Hero. and The Brother. by Mike Mitchell

“Absolute Power Corrupts” by Tim Shumate

“Custer’s Revenge” by Paul Robertson came correct. There was a lot of finger pointing near his pieces. He was the artist for the Scott Pilgrim games and a ton of crazy web animations.

“Yoshi Finds A Hole In The Story” by The Chung.

“M.K. Kalamari” by Jose Emroca Flores

“The Treachery of Adventure” by Jason Adam

“Nosedrive” by Mark Harrison

Jon Gibson is the guy behind the show. He makes it happen.

I would argue that it is the artists that make it happen, but hey, you can believe in whichever false prophet you wanna believe in.
The more artists creating art, the better!
Wow, loving “M.K. Kalamariā, otherwise some of these are going to give me nightmares (Custer’s Revenge has seared my brain).
I really want a print of Custer’s Revenge : /
looked like a great show… wish i could have attended…
Hello,
Thank you so much for featuring my Kirbys! Would you mind tagging my name with them if it’s possible?
