American McGee’s Alice Show at Gallery 1988
So while I was traipsing around during E3 I decided to hook up with Josh and Jeff to hang out at the Gallery 1988 Alice show that American McGee put on during E3. As usual, it was a good time with plenty of bullshit high-minded discussion. The thing I like about these art shows is that you get to see how everyone reacts in real time. When you get visible reactions of people squinting, smiling, and scratching their heads you can get an interesting impression of things. So here’s to the looking glass.

That chick in the back is hatin.

N.C. Winters offered up an awesome piece that ended up being the cover image for the show. He’s got the kind of work that will make you take up drinking. There’s a print available now.

The Rabbit Hole goes deeper.

I actually didn’t recognize American because of his clean-cut look. I haven’t seen a picture of him since the first Alice came was released.

Keisha of SugarGamers came through to show some love.

That’d be our podcast ninja, Jeff who was actually drawn to the blood on the wall before he noticed the painting.

Artist Kevin Tong and art G1988 mastermind Jensen Karp.

Kevin Tong’s print got a lot of good looks at the show. You might remember his Tetris piece from the Video Game Posters show.

Josh knows his art, so if he shows up at a show, then I know that something good is going down.

This dead fool is late for a very important date.

This image is by Luke Cheuh. I’m so used to seeing his bears and bunnies, I was surprised to this one with Alice and a wig drinking tea.

You can see all of the art from the show at the Gallery 1988 site. Let us know if you check out the show.

[...] an Alice in Wonderland themed show for some reason. It seems like just last year that I was at an Alice show at Gallery 1988 during E3 wondering why people keep having these shows. And why do people showing up? I’ll [...]
